Look Them In The Eye

The only way you can truly engage with your audience is to make-and keep--eye contact with them.

It's easy to want to make them an undifferentiated mass, but your audience is composed of individual people who are there to hear what you have to say.

Present an idea to one person in the audience--keeping eye contact with them--then move on to someone else.

Even if they're sitting in a dark area, pretend that you can see them, and speak to that darkness as vou would to a friend.

Your audience will love you for it!
