Under Pressure...

Updated: 15 hours ago

When engaged in public speaking, there are a multitude of additional pressures to the immediate demands of performance that can cloud your focus and hamper your delivery.

Whether your boss is in the audience, or it's a make-or-break client pitch, or it's your first television interview, there is only one crucial tool you can use to deflate these barriers to successful performance: forget about it.

The best way to deal with fears/pressures is to acknowledge them and then let them go. Their purpose is to keep you out of the situation you find yourself in, so once you are in front of your audience, you must practice accepting that those fears are redundant and can be set aside.

It's what you do in spite of your fears that sets you apart from everyone else.
