Choose Your Words

When working on a speech or presentation, it's important to keep several things in mind:

Make sure you are including all the vital pieces of your message--no more, and no less. There is nothing more disappointing than to realize that you had something important to say and missed the opportunity to say it.

What is the story you're trying to tell? Speaking within a narrative framework can make what you're saying exciting and not just boilerplate exposition.

Be conversational. Don't make a speech or give a presentation: just talk to your audience. It'll be more fun for both of you.
