When you are in front of an audience, it is important that you speak in your own voice: that's what makes what you say sound authentic--because it is you! That doesn't mean you can't take advice from others on what you should say, or even how you should say it. You should always be open to new ideas and new ways to express what you think is important. Take feedback, see what people have to say when you practice delivering your speech in front of them: they may give you a nugget of truth that's worth its weight in gold!
